Overview
Rockhill Academy is a health and
human services provider serving people with a
primary diagnosis of mental illness. Rockhill
Academy is committed to providing support,
education, transitional living, and community
involvement for individuals who have a mental
illness. Rockhill Academy is a place where
personal goals of independence can become a
reality.
Rockhill Academy for Independent
Living has activities and services in the
following areas:
Independent Living Situations
–This program currently provides the following:
Transitional community residences, permanent
housing with services, daily living skills
training, rehabilitation counseling, self
advocacy training, health and symptom
management, community resource development.
Residents live, learn and develop their
potential in an environment that respects
personal choice.
Rockhill Academy Bridge Classes –
classes last for ten (10) weeks during each of
its three full semesters. Each term provides
many resources for students who have goals
towards independent living. Consumers have the
opportunity to take BRIDGE classes, apply for
the community apartment program and enjoy
leisure activities. These programs are open to
all members of the community who desire to learn
more about themselves, their disabilities and
the choices they have available to them. Some
classes and programs are offered exclusively to
the current and future tenants of the Bridge
House and Bridge Apartments. These are
progressive, hands-on classes which provide more
in-depth knowledge in the areas of medication
management, livings skills, community
involvements and banking skills.
Rockhill Academy also offers community interest
network clubs and community service projects. We
are committed to the continual development of a
unique and comprehensive programs centered on
choices and options for the developmentally
disabled and those suffering from chronic mental
illness.
